Stained glass limited edition print

LIMITED EDITION OF 30 PRINTS

Signed and numbered by the artist.

Glass is made by melting sand and mixing it with lime and soda ash. To make coloured glass, metal oxides are added when the glass is molten. For example, iron oxide is added to make green glass. Glass can be endlessly recycled, never losing its purity or quality, yet it can take a million years to decompose.

People have made glass for thousands of years, and it can be made naturally when lightning hits sand, or hot lava cools quickly. Stained glass has been made roughly the same way for over 1,000 years. As light streams through windows at different times of day, it becomes like painting with light.
