Riroriro and lichen print
Riroriro, also known as grey warbler or Gerygone igata, weigh about one third of a mouse, and can hover to catch insects on the wing, which pretty much makes them a native hummingbird, right?
Only the guys sing, and though they bring the mama nesting materials like moss, grass and spider webs, only she builds it.
It’s said that the warbler faces the entrance to her nest away from prevailing winds, which hints at how good the summer ahead might be.
