Mānawatia a Matariki! print

Mānawatia a Matariki! print

Matariki is a cluster of stars that rise in midwinter in Aotearoa New Zealand. This, for many Māori, heralds the start of the new year.

Celebrated around the world as a seasonal milestone, the stars’ appearance signals a time for remembrance, joy and peace, and for communities to share time together.

Serene, organic creatures hum at the winter night sky. A little bit leaf, fungus, wood, bird, insect, water. May your cold darkness be star-filled.
